When I was looking for a house in Denmark, I wanted it to be as much closer to nature as possible. We were lucky enough to find a perfect place in Bagsværd which has the Bagsværd lake in a walking distance. I have been around the lake several times. Then there is the Furesø lake in a closer distance to Bagsværd lake which I always wanted to visit. I read about it, asked opinions from the FB community and decided to complete the hike around Ferusø lake this weekend.
Furesø Lake is the deepest lake in Denmark. It’s the deepest point is 37.7m. The lake is famous for fishing, swimming and other water sports, also around the lake, there are perfects spots for camping, cycling and hiking. So, this Sunday, I completed the 23km hike around the lake. I followed the Ferusø Hiking Map on Komoot app which I found the perfect app for hiking. Check out the route here.
I took the train from Bagsværd to Farum at 6:20 am. Started my hike at 6.30 am and completed the 23km in 4 hours and 45 minutes. You will walk through the deep cool forest along the lake. There are birds chirping sound throughout the hike to keep you company and you will meet people along the way as well. Also, comparing with my previous hiking experiences in Malaysia and Sri Lanka, I found this an easy to medium level hike.
